Here’s a fun event coming up to put on your calendar if you live in the western New York state area: On Saturday, December 3rd, I’ll be participating with several other area authors in the Fairport Library’s Local Author Book Fair, from 2 to 4pm, at (not surprisingly) the Fairport Public Library (here’s their site, for address and contact info: fairportlibrary.org). Folks who stop by can meet a gaggle of local writers (I think I’m the only cartoonist of the bunch; watch me work that niche!), check out their books, and purchase signed copies. For a list of who you’ll see there, check out the Towpath Reader blog, at hollywolf.wordpress.com.

Holly Wolf, co-organizer of this “Festive Book Signing” event (as they’re also calling it) has been reading all of the participants’ latest works, and posting short reviews on her blog. Here’s her snippet about Odori Park: East Marries West.

Since starting Odori Park back in 2009, I’ve had opportunities to branch out into a number of venues and events I never explored in my past artistic and cartooning lives. Things like gallery showings, guest strips and collaborative comics, all manner of podcasts, big shiny books, and now library book fairs. I’m loving every one of these new experiences.

In case you didn’t know, by the way, you can also purchase the book at a couple local comic shops (Pulp Nouveau Comix and Park Ave. Comics & Games, to be precise), and, of course, you can always buy one right here on this very site. I aim to please, you know.

Hope to see some of you at the fair!

A reminder, if you’re in the western New York state area: Please come out to the Festive Book Sale & Signing, at the Fairport Public Library, on this Saturday, December 3rd, from 2 to 4pm! (Click here for location and direction information.) You can wrap up some holiday shopping for your favorite book lovers, while meeting and supporting little old me. What’s not to love? :)

Also, here are a few fun places Odori Park has cropped up recently:

  • In October (shame on me for not seeing this earlier), local journalist, writer, and comics aficionado David Wheeler blogged a nice bit about OP, after chatting with me at the Canandaigua Comic Con. One of the nicest guys I met that weekend. Thanks, Dave!
  • Brock Heasley, superstar creator of The SuperFogeys, was interviewed a couple weeks back at fantopro.com, wherein he referenced me and OP on a short list (also including Krishna Sadasivam of PC Weenies and Uncubed, and David Reddick of Legend of Bill–humbling company!) of artists whose work he enjoys. Thanks for the shout-out, Brock!
  • Our favorite Sprout made a surprise cameo over in Mike Donohue’s comic The Cow, running away from what appears to be a man-bat-clown-magician. (Good call, Sprout.) Loved it, Mike–thanks!

Is it really December already? Get back here, November! I wasn’t done with you yet!
