    Where all good stories begin!

For a moment I thought it was Arisa asking what a ranger and a tavern are.
(It’s weird what doesn’t cross over cultural lines- my girlfriend, a Filipina from way out in the country, once had me explain what a burrito was since she’d never seen one.)

  2. SpilledInkGuy

    HA!
I wouldn’t know anything about traditions like that. Really. Honest.
Seriously, though… I love the tavern, Mr. W… very cool!

  3. Natasha

Colin has a pipe, how spiffy :3

  4. Spike Matthews

What a perfectly good tradition. Let’s hope Sprout doesn’t take that too much to heart and try to tradition himself into insensibility.

  5. Mark Stokes

Just wonderful, Chris, love how you worked the fantasy into the reality in those first panels.

  6. DadaHyena

“Getting drunk and doing dumb things”…hey! He’s telling the story of Sprout’s conception!

JakeLives: That is funny, isn’t it? We take so much for granted, but when you look at them in another light, ordinary things can seem pretty strange.
SpilledInk: Thanks! Nothing like a little cobble to add authenticity.
Natasha: I toyed with having it sprout bubbles, like Snoopy in Sherlock Holmes mode. There may yet be time…
Spike: For now, he’ll have to be content with the mind-altering effects of soda and Pop Rocks.
    Mark: Thanks much!
    DadaHyena: d’oh!
