Don’t laugh, Costco has the christmas decorations out already and yet, I couldn’t find a lighted pumpkin to save my life! o.O It truly is “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in your local buy and bulk store! o.O

I worked at Toys R Us as a teenager, and I got a “hard knocks” education in the principles of retail cashflow. It’s staggering. Well, it was staggering then, and the situation has only gotten more competitive and cutthroat in the years since. Once the candy and costume dollars are no longer available (aka, November 1st), stores that don’t make money off turkey and stuffing sales immediately start pounding Christmas…hard. Such a huge percentage of retail income is attached to the holiday shopping season, stores cannot miss out or be behind the curve.
