Actually, there really only 10 numbers: 0-9. But like how words are really just a combonation made up of induvidual letters, large numbers are made up of a combonation of the individual numbers.
We just don’t really think of it this way, since letters have to be in specific combonations in order to make sense to us, while any combonation of numbers can be useful.
