I learned how to catch a basketball close-mouthed while wearing braces. Man, you can learn so much more in foreign PE classes.

I went to the kind of school that had hockey and lacrosse and fencing but wouldn’t let me do Tae Kwon Do because it wasn’t lady-like. Lacrosse and hockey are not lady like. I have rather ‘interesting’ smile now because of hockey - and that was while wearing one of those horrid rubber gumshield things. Fencing’s just brilliant fun, need to do more of that.

Sounds like the universal constant here is that some grown-ups think character development is a direct result of getting smashed in the face.

I got knocked down by a basketball player twice my height in PE class. My fault, really, for thinking that I can steal the ball from him..
